Here is my favorite “Mean Green” juice recipe
the apple or pear sweetens it just a bit and the lime is the citrus it needs to balance.
Let me know what yo think!Β
So Day 3 was like Day 2Β
Once i got it in my head that chewing wasn’t something I needed daily then the juice was flowing!
However, we did have plans for a birthday celebration on Saturday (which would be day 5) and I really didn’t want to miss out on it but definitely did not want to put my stomach through that craziness the day of a cleanse.
So… I decided to give the last 2 days of the cleanse to my sister in law… she had a tough time with it π
Β
— All in all, it was a good experience. I didn’t feel “cleaner” or “lighter”. I didn’t do it to lose weight (I did lose 4 lbs) I did it to essentially restart my insides π
So I did buy a juicer and juice about once a day. And can you actually believe my favorite to juice is greens! I’ve even gotten my boyfriend in to it π
Β
Day 2 was a breeze!
I even went shopping with my boyfriend and sat across from him at lunch while he pigged out on a HUGE cheeseburger and cheesy bacon fries. But the entire time the devil on my shoulder kept saying “seriously, it’s just 1 fry. It’s no big deal!”. But my cleanse angels were stronger and I defeated my craving!
So, I started the cleanse on a Tuesday. I work retail which seemed to make it a little easier for me. My shift on Tuesday was 1-10 and the delivery for day 1 and 2 juices arrived around 9 am. Perfect!
I started immediately, as I had only had hot water with lemon so far.
Drink 1 was a greens. Let me just start with…I love salads. Seriously I could have a salad with every meal. I load them with veggies and use a ranch dressing made with greek yogurt. But drinking greens for the first time was awful! I chugged it just to get it down haha! It seemed to fill me up and I went about my business of my 3.75 run/walk. Drank some water and drink 2, which was a citrus. Very good! It’s definitely a mind over matter situation because when I think of “juice” I think of citrus, not greens π
I continue with my normal routine of getting ready for work and on my way to work I drink #3. A roots drink. It was good also!
For a couple of hours I sip on the Chlorophyll water and by 3 pm I am starving! So it’s time for #4. Another citrus. Delish! But my craving for something to chew on is getting stronger and I am literally saying out loud ugghhhh I am so in need of a cheeseburger! (which is crazy because I eat a cheeseburger maybe once a month!)Β
I continued to drink water and so my tummy felt full but that feeling went away quick!
5pm rolls around and it’s time for my break.
Time for drink #5. A greens. Oh no… Again, I chugged it! Down the hatch!
So work was a little busy and my mind didn’t have time to wander to solid food.Β
I actually didn’t realize I was hungry until about 9pm when we closed and I was super excited for the “dessert”. Almond milk with vanilla bean. It was like heaven in a bottle!
The last drink is the drink before bed. The aloe vera water.
Whew! Day 1 was tough! but sweet dreams!

Straight to my door!
I decided to try a juice cleanse. I’ll be honest, I was watching Housewives of Orange County and one of the wives did one so I starting researching.
I had a few I was going back and forth with. I looked in to Blueprint, Nektar, and Pressed Juicery.
I read review after review and decided to make my decision not based on the cost but more on the type of juice and the taste.
So I decided to go with Pressed Juicery (go figure the most expensive!) based on the reviews, they had the best results and the best tasting juices. Of course, they are based out of California, I mean for Dallas to have a juice bar is never gonna happen!
Pressed Juicery’s website is very helpful – Β http://www.pressedjuicery.com – Β and very user friendly.
So you’re first step is to choose a cleanse.
They have 3 different types of cleanses and based on what you’re looking is what cleanse you would choose. I chose Cleanse 2 Detoxify. Since this is my first cleanse I thought about Cleanse 1 Nourish, but I’m going all in!
The next step is to choose your length of the cleanse. Pressed Juicery offers 3 or 5 days. (Nektar has the option of 1, 2,3,4 or 5 and I couldn’t decipher Blueprint’s website) So I chose to do a 5 day cleanse. I thought, well if I can do 3 days, then how bad can 2 more days be??Β
The 3rd step is to choose your juices. There are 6 drinks throughout the day and each drink has 3 or more options. Now I really have no idea how these juice combos taste and so when I picked my juice combos I went solely on if I like that fruit or vegetable in a solid state. Haha! Probably not the best logic π
So here is what I chose:
In order of how I drink them starting at breakfast and every 2 hours
Greens 5: spinach, romaine, fennel, orange, pineapple, cilantro
Citrus 2: pineapple, apple, lemon, mint
Roots 3: beet, apple, lemon, ginger
Citrus 1: lemon, cayenne, filtered water
Greens 6: spinach, honeydew, kiwi, lemongrass, cilantro
Vanilla Almond: almonds, dates, vanilla bean, sea salt, filtered water
You can order from the website but I had so many questions! I actually followed the Pressed Juicery on facebook and asked questions via posts. They responded quickly and were very helpful!
So I decided to call to place my order in case I was forgetting something or had another question. The girl that answered the phone was very friendly and helpful and efficient! I received my confirmation email immediately and that’s when I started to think “oh man, should I really do a 5 day?!” But I’m locked in now and my boyfriend said I was flying solo on this adventure π
I received my first shipment of juices today!Β
Since I live in Dallas and Pressed Juicery is in California, they send their juices in 2 shipments due to the juice only having a 3 day shelf life. So I received days 1 and 2 today and will receive days 3,4,5 on Thursday.
If all goes well, I want to purchase my own juicer!
I’ll post pics later!

this is gonna be a tough one!
Today is a rest day. (Whew!) And only 2 days left! I don’t see much of a change but the squats definitely got easier, kinda…
Monday I will start the ab challenge π I totally suck at abs!

I like my scrub a little on the thicker and pastier side. Turned out amazing!
I think next time I’ll buy some lemongrass oil to replicate the smell of the Suki Face brand
